Are you uncertain about which yoga mat will work best for your practice? When I began practicing yoga a decade ago, I picked a mat based on its color and a beautiful mandala design that caught my eye. Luckily, in my opinion, it turned out to be a great choice—a 5mm GAIAM yoga mat. I have found a few GAIAM mats priced very inexpensively at TJ Maxx, Marshalls or even Target. GAIAM is my personal top choice in any yoga gear!
Throughout the years, I've been intrigued by various yoga mats I've seen fellow practitioners using, like LIFORME, Manduka, Maji jute mats, and a few more. Despite their sometimes higher costs, I've discovered that they don't quite suit my needs in my practice. Some of these mats might cater to specific yoga styles, like hot yoga, with features such as a rubber top or a sticky texture.
Another thing to consider is mat thickness. The thickness of a mat can either provide comfort or cater to the particular style of yoga you're engaging in. To protect my knees I often stack 2 mats together.
Before making a purchase, take some time to research and consider: Which yoga mat will best support my body during my practice?
